Our Mighty Marlins took part in the second round of the ‘Diddy’ League at Bramcote last Saturday
night. Competing against some strong opposition, they achieved some great times and showed good
skills and technique. Most swimmers improved their times from round one, demonstrating very
encouraging progress.
As ever, some technical areas need development, and these will be a focus in training. Working
through each element of a race swim will ensure that all of the natural talent and speed can be put
to the best use to winning races!
Although first places were hard to come by, Lotte Perry Taylor, Emma Jane Rantzen and Jenna Bevan
all managed at least one race win, and the girls 11/under Freestyle relay team (Chloe Outram, Olivia
Marshall, Jenna Bevan & Amelie Lincoln) also took maximum points for Marlins.
At the end of the evening, Marlins came in a strong 4 th place with 145 gala points. All team members
should be pleased with their performances and be ready to work hard in preparation for the next
round on 22 nd June.
