It’s that time of year. The nominations are open for the Derby Telegraph Sports Awards. Belper Marlin Swimming Club would ask you to consider nominating someone from the club or even Belper Marlin Swimming Club itself.
The awards have a number of categories, including club of the year, coach of the year and many more.
Last year I was lucky enough to be nominated and shortlisted, for my work with Dementia Friendly Swimming at Ripley and Heanor Leisure Centres. I was able to go to the awards ceremony at Derby in November.
Listening to all the different categories, my overriding memory was that other large swimming clubs in the area had been shortlisted for a number of awards and I kept on thinking to myself that Belper Marlin Swimming Club should be the club shortlisted for this award and a member of Belper Marlin Swimming Club should be collecting this award.
So, if you feel you can, please nominate the club or someone in the club for one or more of the many categories listed below.

If you nominate someone or the club please let everyone know about it by posting on the club Facebook page. It doesn’t matter how many times someone is nominated. If a person or club is nominated more than once, by different people, this will give them more chance to get shortlisted.
